About the role:

You will coordinate the activities of our Region in EMEA in all matters of Export Control advising the wider regulatory compliance team with chemical and other product regulations, sanctions, export license require-ments. You are the key expert and contact for the European business groups for Export Control.

Your responsibilities:

  • As the coordinator for global trade compliance in the region EMEA, you assess and advise all business units and all locations
  • You work closely with our Economic Security Promotion Department to coordinate policy efforts
  • In your role, you guide and supervise seven Export Control Officers to ensure effective export control practices
  • Conducting trade compliance audits is your responsibility to ensure the business is fully prepared and supportive
  • You monitor and assess emerging export control and trade compliance developments in Europe, offering appropriate actions and frequent reports to management
  • You maintain and improve the internal compliance programs for international and European export control regulations, while ensuring ongoing documentation and reporting obligations are met in collaboration with the business group
  • Additionally, you develop and implement (online) trade-related trainings as needed

Your Qualifications and Skills:

  • You hold a university degree, preferably in Chemistry, Engineering, Economics or Law
  • With a background in the chemical industry and prior experience in legal, compliance, or purchasing departments, you are well-versed in export control procedures
  • Having worked for an international company, you possess cultural awareness and understanding of the nuances associated with it
  • You are a strong communicator in both German and English, which enables effective collaboration
